The SAME Los Angeles Post is pleased to present Ms. Kimberly Frelow, Program Manager for the Los Angeles Unified School District's (LAUSD) Small Business Enterprise and We Build Programs. Ms. Frelow is responsible for facilitating the introduction of small business vendors to buyers and procurement opportunities within LAUSD. In addition, she manages We Build, a job placement program that assists local residents with training and job placements on construction sites throughout Los Angeles County
Ms. Frelow’s career has spanned multiple sectors; entrepreneurship, corporate, non-profit, education and government. Under her leadership, perseverance and advocacy she has expanded LAUSD’s SBE program district wide and has created an environment of inclusion for both large and small businesses.
Ms. Frelow will be providing an update on the NEW small business Preference Program and Fall scheduled LAUSD Bootcamp on the Process of Doing Business with LAUSD.
LAUSD is the 2nd largest school district in the United States. Currently the District is comprised of:
- 710 square miles with more than 21 thousand buildings totaling more than 75 million square feet.
- Total student enrollment including adult education is 900,000.
- 1,147 K-12 schools and 123 early education centers, adult schools, and occupational/skill centers
